After painting a few t-shirts, I thought it might be fun to paint my old jean jacket. I even took the plunge and used my UV-reactive paints. So, this thing practically sparkles under blacklights. I actually started this project last year, but I ran out of white UV paint and had to re-order.

I gave it the usual treatment. Bleached away the color in a few areas and painted the dark areas with blue and purple. Blue and what was supposed to be turquoise (but ended up looking more green) on the edges of the bleached-out sections. White in the middle and then blown through a straw to make the stars. Any weird splatters get to become the brightest stars.

It's a little flashier than what I normally wear, but I love it.

Beautiful!  And not flashy at all, it's gorgeously celestial -- heavenly, in fact!

Beautiful. I love the cuffs and the stars. How fabulous that you used UV sensitive paint. I'd love to see how it looks under UV light but I guess it is a bit difficult to photograph.

This is so epic! Some of the best galaxy print DIY I've ever seen; that it's UV reactive only adds to the awesomeness! Cheesy

I carry a bag that says FREE KNITTING LESSONS on my daily transit commute, & give a little hands-on tutorial to anyone who asks. They get a starter kit with needles, enough cotton yarn to make a plain dishcloth and a set of instructions. Swaps/donations for materials welcome!

Sorry these pictures aren't great. The only place in my house that is dark enough to do this is my bathroom. Also, it's not easy to take photos under blacklight.

Stellar! (See what I did there? Cheesy) What a great jacket. I'll bet you love wearing it, and get lots of compliments.
