I have so many wonderful memories from music festivals. My first-ever concert when I was 13 was Summerfest in Milwaukee; since then I've gone to at least two festivals every summer, including Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, Pitchfork, and many more.

I had this shirt from Bonnaroo 2008 - I really like it, but it's one of those tiny stretchy girly shirts that fits for like 5 minutes when you're the skinniest you'll ever be. Which I no longer am. But, this Bonnaroo was the first festival I ever went to with my husband, so I knew it had to be re-purposed.

I've been meaning to make a festival bag for awhile - something super lightweight and comfy that could travel with me to all the music festivals and hold the essentials. I have a t-shirt, I need a bag...t-shirt bag!

The finished product!

Shirt, pre-bag:

To test it, I filled it a few festival essentials: my raincoat, sunscreen, and a granola bar. Getting an action shot was a little tricky, sorry for the poor quality:

I also liked the idea of trying to incorporate a barcode, so I created this little tag with a QR code that takes you to a web site with festival safety tips. I'm also going to make some festival-specific ones - one with a map of the campground, for example, or the show lineup:

Thanks for looking! Smiley

That shirt looks like it would still fit you! I am a bag fanatic, so I love this. What a cool idea for recycling a shirt and having that great memory every time you carry it. Nice work!

Ha, trust me, the shirt was tiny! But thanks. Wink We're going to the Eaux Claires music festival in July, I'm looking forward to taking the bag for a spin (although I've already used it for a trip to the zoo, so I know it's functional).

Functional and lovely re-purpose!

Each time you use the bag, you will have fond memories of your event!

The QR code tag is a good idea...it even makes the bag seem like you might have purchased it! Nice!
