I made this for Petskin in the recent fiber arts jewelry swap. I had a lot of fun digging through my stash to find seemingly random materials that would work together. This piece is made with a piece of wool pre-felt, fleece (for comfort on the wrist side), antique lace (that is delicate and tears easily, part of its charm), vintage string with metallic accents, silvery/grey yarn, a wooden button, and a little circle mirror. As I played with the shaping of the wool felt and came up with the idea to make the series of bumps they reminded me of a caterpillar. That is where the string came in, they represent the "hairs" on a caterpillar.

I love to see your projects!  So unique...and when you share your creative process, it is so enjoyable...

When I first saw it, it did remind me of a caterpillar! Grin

Lovely color and use of mixed materials...I especially love the use of some vintage lace.

Thank you. In fairness, I didn't really pick the color. Petskin had "mustard yellow" on her list of favorite colors and I happened to have that piece of wool on my work table at the time. I probably would not have picked it had she not written that. It just would not have occurred to me. Grin

I think the lacey button side is as pretty as the fuzzy top side! Such beautiful & interesting work!
