So I got this ring yesterday and I noticed that it had a long chip in it. When I first saw it I didn't notice it so I dunno if I ended up doing it or what. As far as I can tell it's made out of some kind of stone. Is there anything I can put over the chip to prevent it from further getting damaged? I have no idea how to go about this. I was thinking something like clay glaze?

Here's a link to the image of the ring. It's pretty big but you can zoom in and see the chip.

I'm not sure what to use to repair it, as I'm not familiar with working with stone. Hopefully someone else will chime in here.

So as an update I used some mod podge (the matte kind) and it worked perfectly. It's not quite to the same level the ring was at before but a few more layers would make it more even. It dried clear and all the rough edges are protected now. Smiley Even though I had the matte kind it actually looks just as shiny as the ring.
