I haven't done any stitching in ages, but I saw this piece on Etsy and had to recreate my own version. It's going on a jacket I'm filling with comic/manga/anime patches.

I picked a frame from my book, used tissue paper to trace, and then stitched over it. He's not 100% accurate to the book image but I'm happy with it!

It was really fun to make and I definitely want to use this appliqu and drawing with stitches method to make some more characters!

This is great! The sequins as stars are perfect. I've never used the stitching-over-tissue method for anything as detailed as this - it looks like it works very well. Was the tissue paper difficult to remove after you were done?

thanks! It wasn't bad actually; most of it came right off and the bits around the face pulled off easily with some tweezers. I only ended up stitching over the paper for the major lines, I did all of the little dashes after I took the paper off.

I like Kit-Kat, unless I'm with 4 or more people.

Fantastic work, ZidishaLux! Comic book art, especially David Gibbons, is utterly fantastic and you've stitched it perfectly.

He looks great!  100% accuracy only counts in math.  Wink.
