I recently made a messenger bag for gala_apples in the box of color swap.  I used this tutorial.
The bag went together very easily, and the tutorial is very easy to understand.

I made the bag a little larger than the tutorial suggests since gala was going to need it to hold a large water bottle, some snacks and a notebook.

I also added in a divider and some extra large pockets on the inside of the bag, and a small section for a pen or pencil for the notebook.

There is also a small pocket on the front of the bag.
This bag was very hard to send off, but I know it went to a great home!

Nicely done!

It was so nice of you to truly customize the pattern and adding all of the extra pockets, holders, etc.

The two fabrics are so lovely together as well...I love that a bit of it pokes out on the strap...very nice detail!

ohhh--and I just noticed that the topstitching is done in contrasting coral/pink !!!  YES!!!!!!!!!

Truly a well made and pretty bag!

I noticed that fabulous detail immediately...I think the nicer bags I have seen have lovely details like that (and nice zippers, etc!)...I am a fussy bag person...(does that make me a bag lady?) Grin

Beautiful bag.
I like all the pockets, that would make it very useful to somebody who doesn't want everything in a big pile at the bottom of the bag.

What a nice bag!  Thanks for the tute info.  Would you mind suggesting whether you would use woven or non-woven interfacing?

Thanks

I'm not sure about woven vs non woven for this, but I used a fusible fleece for the outer part of the bag, and I'm pretty sure I used a lightweight interfacing for the rest.  hope that helps.

Maybe someone else would be able to suggest something?!
