I usually hang out over in the polymer clay community, but I am so excited that I finished my first embroidery project that I had to stick my nose in here a minute Smiley  I have started a few embroidery projects in the past but always gave up within a few hours.  I used to do a lot of needlepoint 20+ years ago, so I just tried to remember how to do stitches as I went along.  The image is something I saw a while ago on reddit that I was able to google, and ended up finding it had been made into a t-shirt.

I'm not sure what to do with it now that it is complete... get a nice wood hoop I guess to stick it on my wall?

Great stitching - is that Bullion Knot for the mane?

Yes it is!  It took a super long time.  Here is a side shot to show the height on the stitches. I was trying really hard to make them lay down in a way that looked like the mane was flowing.

Thanks to all for the compliments!  I just got done putting fabric on a new hoop for my next one. I'm pumped!

This is amazing! Your *first* embroidery, and you tackle bullion knot AND metallic floss!? You are a rock star.
