I have drooled over the houndstooth scarves that I have been seeing on Pinterest.  I finally decided to give it a try...and wow...it is so easy, with no weaving in of the ends!!!

I love that one side of the scarf is slightly different than the other...so when you wear it, some of both parts show.

I made it into an infinity scarf, but you can crochet it as a regular scarf as well.

I love this pattern and will be making it again using different colors and weights.

If anyone is interested in the pattern, let me know...I have the link at work.

Oh I love it! I agree that it is fun and lovely to see both sides, slightly different.

Did you crochet the short side and then the length? Hope you understand what I want to ask haha! Usually you start with crocheting the desire length and I don't like it 'cause I hate counting my stitches and I end up with a scarf waaayyy too short or too long haha!

I am interested in the link Linda!  Smiley I should give it a try!

That's really nice.  I, too, would like the pattern.

That's awesome! I always love a nice houndstooth pattern. Your scarf looks so warm and cozy.

Thanks!  I put the link to the free pattern on my post.

Wendiek---you can make the scarf as long as you like...it is crochet as wide as you want and then you just keep going until you are happy with the length.  You must use soft yarn for this because you carry the thread in the stitches so you don't have to weave in the ends!  It makes the scarf feel thicker, too.

You can also add a nice border, like in red, but I liked it just plain black and white.

I do have a very soft black and white yarn...

Borders can be nice, but I agree that this looks pretty as it is.

I had a houndstooth suit when I lived in the city...I wore that thing to death...thanks for your nice comments...it really was such a simple no brainer crochet pattern...a good beginners' project if anyone wants to give it a go!
