Where is my Cosmo?

This month, Alpha Stamps kits are "Cute as a Button". Here's what I made with my kit and some wooden blocks and spools: little photo holders!

To start the project, I painted each block and a wooden wheel a different color, chosen to coordinate with the Sew Lovely 6" paper pad. I sanded all the edges, inked them a bit, and then covered each side with a different paper, cut a little smaller than the side of the block. One side of the blocks got kittens and a couple of buttons, while the reverse side got some adorable children. After I adhered the images, I lightly sanded each one to distress the surface.
I made some good use of my Silhouette Cameo cutter for this project, cutting out the word cat and the numbers 1, 2, and 3 to put on the sides of the blocks.

I also decorated a couple of spools with some of the kitty and heart buttons. That cat on the right cracks me up. He's so excited to be on that spool!

The photos displayed on the blocks are from friends and family, but the photos displayed on the spools are from AS collage sheets. Instant relatives!

There are more photos and a complete supply list on my blog.  Smiley

I always love your projects, you paper crafters are amazing. This gives me a great way to use the vintage wooden spools I have . Someone also gave me a bag of plain wood blocks. They will in no way be close to your level of perfection, and I will force myself to use some of the vintage wildlife stamps I have. My resolution is to not buy anything except maybe glue. Very lovely.

Thanks, Mixedpibbles. Give those blocks a go. I think imperfection is preferable. I sanded my blocks and papers down and brushed ink all over them in order to make them look old and worn. Imperfection gives things character.  Smiley

I really like the blocks.  Smiley  They just look so perfectly vintage.

I like Kit-Kat, unless I'm with 4 or more people.
