Here's the set of tins so far. Scroll down for larger photos and a bit about how each one was made.

Early last fall, I found a set of 12 small tins (about 1 1/2 inch in diameter), designed for jewelry parts storage. They were on sale at Tuesday Morning, and although I didn't have a plan for them, I couldn't resist them at the low, low price of $1.99. Why I didn't purchase every set they have, I don't know.

Fast forward to this week. I don't currently have any pending projects, so I pulled out the tins and started fiddling around. I ended up making a Halloween tin that I was pretty happy with. I thought about making a few more with a Halloween theme, but since there were 11 tins left, I thought it would be fun to make one tin representing each month of the year and post it on my blog. It's now my 2015 craft challenge. Each month, barring disease, disaster, or just plain slackness, I'll be posting up one of these little tins. At the end of the year, the whole year will be represented.

Here's January. I photographed it on a black background so the trim would show. I love the little bottlebrush tree and the tiny vintage snowman in this one. I picked up that plastic trim around the edge at Ikea a few years ago.

Happy February! This month's tin has a Valentine theme. I used red glitter around some cute scrapbook paper with hearts. The words "kiss me" were cut out of an old dictionary, and the happy couple came from a collage sheet. I trimmed the outside with tiny red pom poms, and a heart and cupid charm, all found at Alpha Stamps. So romantic!

Ready for March? Here's a little early Easter themed tin. Spring is on its way (or at least I like to think so!)

That is wonderful!
What a great idea too. A monthly project that is actually realistic to finish on an ongoing basis and will leave you with a wonderful presentation of all 12 tins at the end of the year. I am looking forward to seeing these pop up each month.

It's hard to believe that this is only 1.5" across!! I like how the bakers twine kind of looks like candy cane. You're so clever!

I can't wait to see what you do for February - something Valentines'ish I assume??

Yes, it will definitely be Valentine's inspired. Some of the months are easier than others, though I have ideas for most of them. Hopefully. Cheesy

I like Kit-Kat, unless I'm with 4 or more people.

Took you long enough to use those tins.  Cheesy

It was worth the wait to see this enchanting tin and I know February's will be just as beautiful.
