This project was a huge challenge.  I learned to interpret a design in petit point, and to stick with what is for me a difficult technique of stitchery.  The petit point is worked on black plastic window screen, with the image behind worked in my own style on cotton.  This design was inspired by the life and work of Ernest Thesiger, whose 136th birthday is today. It is based on one of his party costumes, from 1905.

I went as Death, in black draperies, with a skull-mask wreathed in scarlet poppies."

Ooh, see, way creepier! Grin Wow. Just, wow. I love the layered look and using the window screen is such an interesting technique.
Excellent.

Stunning and so original. How was the plastic canvas like to work with? I've been told it is very hard on threads.
