I heard about needle felting years ago, but I never really got into it. Wool is too expensive for me to justify the purchase on a limited budget, but it always hung around in the back of my mind as something I'd like to try. Recently, I found a tutorial on how to turn acrylic yarn into 'roving', and since I crochet quite a bit, I have a lot of yarn and yarn scraps that I can use, and I can make whatever color I need right then and there!

Other than a tiny little test ball, this is my first project. Luna, from Sailor Moon. I made it for my sister for Christmas and she loved it.  Smiley

Smiley  Nice Job!  My daughter use to watch Sailor Moon a long time ago.   I remember this character.   You did a great job matching Luna

What a cutie! Smiley Great job! Smiley

And You're right! A loosely spun yarn is perfect for fiber source, when actual roving is not available!
