This is basically a motivation crochetalong. If you want to work on a granny square, motif, one huge granny square blanket, this is a great way to set aside time everyday to get some serious work completed in an attainable amount of time.

People have come up with some really neat uses for grannys too! Different bags and blankets, shopping sack holder, slippers, scarves, a nifty pullover etc.

If you are intrested and would like to join we would love to see your work! Post pics of progress and then at the end of the month post a pic of al that you accomplished! It would be great if everyone could post progress weekly (but not required). At the end of the month we can piece together our work and show off our afghans and Inga bags and whatever else you can come up with to make with nifty grannies! (Must post a completed project or progress pic in this thread.)

You can find many of the other threads in the crochet-a-long section to see how we have done it before!

What a pretty color combo, that1girl! And, I'm impressed with your rate of square production! Are those 12" blocks? Looking forward to seeing the final product Smiley

I just realized that you've only used 2 different block patterns (I think- it's hard to tell about the light blue one in the upper right). I love how the different colors and changes completely change the appearance of the block by highlighting different features.

It looks like a 9-patch Granny Square. I'd give a Google search a shot!

Excuse my ignorance folks, I'm new to granny squares.  I finally found some information on ravelry - is this actually 9 squares that make one big square?

That's exactly what it is! You crochet 9 small squares and stitch them together to make a larger square.

Granny squares are supposed to look wonky  Grin I love the colors you picked. And especially like those rosette circle ones. I wish I could squeeze your teddy.

Good idea! And, if I didn't have 100 other projects to finish, I'd be jumping right in.
