Okay - life has just been insanely busy in the last two months or so.  I'm crafting on and off, haven't finished anything recently but I updated my list.  Ripped a few knitting projects out.  Started other projects.  I have Spring Break coming up soon and I'm hoping that I'll finish at least one project over break.  Maybe we'll get crazy and I'll work on my drop spinning!

Ok, slight departure from the wood for awhile.  My hands have been giving me grief, so I decided to let the carving rest.

These earrings are made from rescued charms and ivory piano keys.  It was just to see if I could come up with something different.  I'm very happy with the results.

Please excuse the lousy pictures.  Anything this small is hard to photograph.  They are 1/2 inch wide and about one inch long or a little longer, depending on the size of the charm.

What a great way to save old piano keys...what kind of prep do you have to do?  Are they heavy?

Very cool Pinokeeo!  I got some piano keys with the idea that I'd engrave them someday...still hasn't happened yet.

The keys are very light, almost translucent.  I always have to scrape them to get all the old crud off before I can use them.  I cut, sand and shape with a dremel and the smallest etching bit they sell.

Rox, don't give up on trying to do things with the keys.  The possibilities are endless.  If you etch, you can also color with india ink.

quaggy- love the altered tray with keys!

I made the Hufflepuff banner for my daughter's room as well as the super mario garland for my son's room Smiley

I also made a photo book for a friend's first birthday (he likes goats and stripes!)

And I meant to post pictures of the flag peg people I made earlier in the year! I'm proud of these. They took longer than I anticipated but my kids love them.

couldn't fit these ones on the map!

Those flag people are such a wonderful and fun way to teach your children about our world and the banners add  so much to their room decor. You did a great job with the details on all your projects!

This one took way too long to make.  Sick of the snow, maybe!
