I like Kit-Kat, unless I'm with 4 or more people.

Got a shivering Elf on the Shelf in your house? Knit him or her a toasty sweater in a snap!

Gather your materials:

Worsted Weight yarn in any color
Size 5 knitting needles
Tapestry needle
Hot Toddy to drink while your elf "supervises" your handiwork.

Begin with the Front!

Cast on 18 stitches and work K2, P2 ribbing across.
Turn and P2, K2 across.

Work in Stockinette Stitch for 2.5". End on a purl row.
Change colors (optional) and knit across row.

Purl across.
Change to first color and Stockinette Stitch for 1".
Bind off three stitches at beginning of row, knit across.
Bind off 3 stitches at beginning of row, purl across.

K1, P1 ribbing for 4 rows. Bind off.
Repeat steps for back. Make another Hot Toddy and tell the elf that you're working as fast as you can. Impatient imp.

Sew shoulder seams.

Time to add a sleeve!
Pick up 14 stitches between the grey stripes.

Stockinette Stitch 4 rows in first color.
Change to 2nd color. Stockinette Stitch for 2 rows.
Change back to first color and Stockinette Stitch 10 rows.
K1, P1 ribbing for two rows. Bind off. Repeat for other sleeve.

Here's what my hot mess of a sweater looks like:

Time to seam that bad boy! Sew neck edges together. Sew up side edges and along sleeve edges. Weave in all those ridiculous yarn ends, then present finished sweater to elf, who complains that you didn't use the "good yarn." At least he has stopped whining about being cold.

That is so cute!  There aren't much to those PJ's they wear is there?

I think our poor elf is roasting in the abnormally warm temps we are having here in Arizona oh and I can't knit anyway!
