This bag is made from 2 fat quarters sewn back to back (to make one flat square of fabric - if you had something with an attractive wrong side you could just use that), which is them folded into shape with no structural sewing to hold it in place! It's a take on a traditional japanese style of origami with fabric, so i used thick silks with weaves that reminded me of kimono designs.  I really enjoyed this, i was very sceptical if it would work so was really pleased that the basket held it's shape... Even once out was full of a pamper kit for my mum (champage, nice bath stuff, book... So fairly heavy, and the basket carried them easily, just by holding the handle in one hand).
I also made some cover buttons.with left over scraps and added those to put on the finishing touch, and i used one to hold the two handles together to maker carrying easier, but if you wanted to be able to reuse the fabric you could skip that, it isn't really necessary.
The side flaps that are shown down in the picture can be folded up to cover the contents, the other side of them is the same as the
