I made this for Missing Willow for the mini 13 Halloween swap.

I used Premier lightweight stone clay in a mold to get the basic shape then pressed a clear glass flat marble into it.

Removed the marble let it dry then inserted a printed iris and replaced the flat marble.  Filled in around the marble, let it dry, buffed it smooth and gave it a couple coats of DecoArt triple thick gloss glaze.

Glued this to round pendant tray and then started beading.  The surround tube was crocheted with #30 DMC Cebelia crochet cotton with #10 steel hook using #11 beads.  After the tube was joined and placed around the eye the rest was stitched sort of loosy goosy, whatever looked right, around the eye and then fringe was added.
Finished eye was attached to a dollar store scarf.

Looking for a vintage magazine (1974 - 1978) that has a fabric nativity set w/ people and animals. An example: http://www.craftster.org/pictures/showphoto.php?photo=440861&ppuser=143144.
