Who here has used the showcase on etsy? Was it worth the cost? About how many sales did you get from it? I am asking because I am trying to decide if I should get a showcase spot or not?

Hey everyone--
I'm considering buying a slot in the showcase... $7.00 for many many hits is not too bad I don't think.  I'm wondering , though, if they WORK.  Like do you REALLY get a lot of hits from Showcasing, make more sales, etc??  I'd love to know because if it really boosts hits and sales, it's totally worth it.  If not, it's just $7 of my dollars going to Etsy!!!

Thanks for any info..

I did a children's showcase last Sunday to see how it would do, but I didn't make any sales off of it. I only got about 30 views for the day and one person hearted the item. I don't know if Sunday was a bad day for a showcase, maybe another day would be better. For me the showcase didn't work.

The general consensus from what I've read on the etsy forums is that showcases don't work... yet they still fill up! The main and speacial showcases I imagine do a little better than category ones. But I think it's a total crapshoot - who's buying that day and who else is in the showcase (too bad we can't see that!).

Something to consider: for the price of a showcase you could list 35 items.

Does the Etsy Showcase adverts really work?  A few weeks agao I rented/purchased one and didn't get an sales and I have another one for jewelry coming up on tuesday and one for accesories coming up tomorow, but is it a waste of money or do they really make a difference at all?  Or could it just be my product that'snot selling at all?

I was just reading a thread on the Etsy forums yesterday and the consensus was that the showcases were not worth the money. It sounds like it is better to simply renew your items. Hope that helps!

I think that the really specific ones can be disappointing if you're hoping for a quick sale but I do usually get people looking and tagging me as a fav which could equal a sale later on. That said, getting a spot in the Gift Guide showcase almost always results in a sale within a few days, maybe because people browsing there have more of an agenda/deadline to buy something.
