I made a new friend of a client. I spent more of my summer working on her project in another state than I did at home and lived with her and her husband while I was there.  That could've been a disaster, but it was the opposite.  Anyway, we both love animals and have dogs and while I was there she discovered that YouTube video of the "talking" dog being teased about his person eating all the bacon or feeding it to the cat.  We would sometimes joke by saying "the maple kind?" to each other.  I would often send a thank-you-for-your-business note to clients after the job was complete, but this was more than that and this time I made the card.

I'm kind of new to card making and have made fewer than a dozen.  It takes me AGES and I have developed even more of an appreciation of the cost of handmade cards.  It's not showing in the photo, but that map is of my area and there is a single piece of glitter about where my house is.

The grid on this shot is a shadow, not part of the decoration.  It should arrive in her mailbox today or Monday; I hope she likes it.

If you're unfamiliar with the talking dog video that I refer to, this is it:

Thanks!  I enjoy making cards and I think if I could get my supplies better organized (i.e. at all organized) that I could be quicker and therefore do it more often with more to show for my efforts.  Why are scrapbook paper organizers SO COSTLY?

Oh gosh, that's one of my favorite all time clips. (Who doesn't love a talking dog that loves bacon, especially the maple kind?) Great use of the phrase and the meaning. I'm sure your client/friend loved this personal card.
