I'm thinking mostly black and white for Halloween this year.  Elegant, adult (as in mature, not x-rated), just a little creepy.

So far, I've ordered 40 yards of silver (gray) tulle to shred and drape on windows, tables, whatever stands still.  Also 13 black crows, and one purple glitter one.

We're hosting a costume dinner party; I get to use my wedding china for the first time in a decade or so!--it's got a gray marble pattern border--plus all the silver and crystal I can dig up.

Any elegant decor ideas for me?

Please, no pumpkins!  They cost a fortune here!

Sounds great! I can't think of anything specifically at this very moment, but here's some inspiration:
- One of my favourite classy Halloween parties that I've seen online: http://www.loraleelewis.com/blog/?p=17566
- A related Buzzfeed article: http://www.buzzfeed.com/peggy/beautiful-and-stylish-ways-to-decorate-for-halloween#2d7z8nh
- It's... my Hallowen pinboard! Since classy Halloween is much of my enjoyment of it. You may find some ideas that I also liked. Smiley http://www.pinterest.com/psyche13/halloween/

Share photos once you're done. Smiley

Well, parts of it are looking more cute than elegant, but I like it!

thrift store cocktail glasses as candleholders.  The black votives look better in plain glasses; tealights look better in the bead-fringed ones.

I made the bobeches on the left from plastic packing material and all the prisms I had on hand; didn't have enough of one color, so I mixed black, clear, and red.  The bobeches on the right were amber, but I used stained glass paint to make them bloody.  Think I'll add more red to the home made ones.

Just finished this fairytale witch's dollhouse, so had to include it in my decorations.

I planned to cut bats and rats out of black paper, but then found them already cut and really cheap at a big box store.  This clock has fallen down the stairs three times but keeps running, so I used tin snips to remove what was left of the plastic frame, and construction paper to make a new moon face.

Almost black rose topiary.  I went to an auction a couple months ago and bought three lots of baskets that came with a whole bunch of ugly silk flower arrangements from the '80s.  Couple cans of black spray paint took care of the roses.

crow with candle glass on silver platter.

Love your ideas!  I purchased several cans of flat black paint and so far, have painted candlesticks, fake flowers, and a bunch of plastic snakes.

I want to make floral arrangements using eyeballs as the centers...you could also frame a bunch of scary "family portraits".

I do like the elegant, ghoulish Halloween theme more than the cutesy themes.  so far, everything looks good!

I like the idea of eyeballs in the flowers.  I used skulls and skellies in mine.  I was thinking of doing creepy silhouettes of me and my husband, but have run out of wall space.

Here are two more pieces I've finished:

I made this from a lamp base and the shade of a ceiling fixture.  And of course, more auction flowers painted black and red.

I repainted the skull and the thrift store tiara
