I don't know about you guys, but I am so ready for fall! The weather keeps teasing me here and there by cooling off, then sky rocketing back up. Gaaah.
Anyway, what better way to prepare for fall than to make some fall inspired dolls?
I've been dying to make a scarecrow doll for quite awhile now and am sooo happy with the way she turned out!

Meet Birdie!

Birdie spends her days in the fields bird watching.
She just loves birds. She loves their songs and pretty colors. She loves watching them fly.
More than anything, she'd love to befriend a bird.
She tries to offer them seeds to eat. She tries talking to them nicely.
For some reason though, they are all frightened of her.
She simply can not understand why...

Birdie was hand sewn and hand painted by me.
Her face has been sealed with a matte varnish.
Her hair is a tan faux fur. It is sewn on.
Her clothing is removable.

She is about 5 inches tall.
She is wired to allow her to hold some poses. She can not stand on her own. Her dress allows her to sit on her own easily though!

She was made from my original Pixie design.

What a dear little scarecrow. I can't believe the birds won't come to her. She is so darling.

Beautiful, rustic looking doll!  I love her outfit/hair and the face you painted is very expressive.

I'm not ready for fall, because that means winter is right around the corner, and the harsh winters where I live are extremely unpleasant. Sad
