Front view

I told my husband that I wanted a fort in my craft room. After I sat through his giggles, he said he thought it was a neat idea. My first thought was to build a teepee and I even found some cool curtains to use but then when I got home and realized that my ceiling was too low and the slope was too much. I decided to build a nook instead.

I went around town and found some pallets, sanded them down and then went to the home improvement store and bought two foam mattresses. I had a feather mattress and put that on top. The foam and the mattress are a little shorter than the pallets so I also made a place for a light, books and pictures.

For the curtains, I used bamboo that we had in our yard. Each year we thin it out and save the canes to dry. It was perfect for this. The curtains went up and the lace is vintage along with the hankies.

The hoop was from an old table cloth  I found that was completely destroyed except for the embroidery.

I love it! I can hang out, drink some tea, stitch, listening to old radio show and have the pups up to snuggle or just have some "me" time.

Lovely personal space!   I love the hankies over the lace center valance...the layering adds such luxury to the space...lots of comfy pillows...looks like you have everything you need except a cabin boy to bring you snacks and drinks! Grin

So envious of this personal private space. It is so kittykill and lovely. I can see you there with the pups stitching away.  Smiley
