I made this for the fantastic Ludi in the most recent IYP Rd 26. She went through a LOT of changes before ending up as thus but I'm really happy with how she came out.

Ohhh I really love this and want this. I love the face, the legs, the feathers....everything! What a wonderful art doll.

How did you do the face and body? Very wonderful texture and look. Tell us more!

Thank you!

Hmm, let me think. The entire base is made from Sculpey clay molded over foil and wire armature. The eyes are beads, eggs, birdy friend, hands and feet are all clay with paint applied. The skirt was some torn organza I had leftover from a school project way back when, the body part of the dress was made from gluing a long trim around and around the body. The sleeves are a bit of crocheted lace I had that I rolled in a tube and glued and the feathers were artfully tucked in and glued into place...So yeah, simple right?  Cheesy

Oh and you can't tell but the legs are attached with loops so they actually sway when you move her. And the arms are flexible as well.

I love this! (Lady bird is actually one of my self-appointd nicknames. Wink )
She has just the right amount of creepy and whimsy. What a treat for Ludi.
