This is a tute from my new mini kit and it is also include in the booklet Crafty Hair Accessories. You can follow the instructions for almost any beaded hair flower or pin, so try out different shapes and sizes and of course colour. And show me! I'd love to see your stuff, so when your done post it here!

Cutting Out Your Foam Flower Template

It might be a little tricky to get the exact shape of the template from the craft foam, so you will have to do a little trimming. Once you have cut out the flower shape turn it around to the right side up and trim off the uneven edges a little to get the flower even. But don't get caught in the vicious over-cutting cycle!

Threading the Needle

When threading your needle, take just over an arms-length of thread and put it through the needle eye. Tie a knot in one end and leave the other open and a little overlapped, but don't tie the two ends of thread together, it'll be too thick to work with.

Part 1: Sewing

Sewing on Beads

1. Cut out the flower template from the supplied card stock.

2. Trace it onto your foam piece and cut it out.

Sewing on Sequins:

This is fairly straight forward because this tiny flower only requires one sequin for each petal.

Save and print out this template onto some cardstock, then trace it onto your craft foam:

I figured these could go here, even though they're not really jewelry.
I was inspired by my payless flip-flops to make these beaded and sequin hair flowers, although mine were probably made more carefully and definately with more love...

Ooh! I'd definitely wear the pink one. It's so very pretty and they look small enough to be subtle. Wonderful.

I really love the gold one.  I think it would be beautiful to wear, especially on a night out.
