Send in the clowns! This month at Alpha Stamps, it's all about the circus, one of my favorite themes. Here's a wild and wooly clown extravaganza, made using the same Small Paper Theatre box that I used to make "Animal Farm". There is so much aerial action going on in this Cirque Theater, that I turned the box for a vertical presentation, and mounted it on a Small Wooden Theatre Base.

All clowns, all the time. Plus a few stars.

I was working on this over the Fourth of July weekend, hence the Americana feel. Once the theater was built, I filled it jam-packed full with clowns. But don't worry; these are nice clowns!

The clowns are stacked at various depths to give dimension.

A vintage cupcake pick and some metallic hands welcome one and all to the circus, and sit nicely in front of a star-spangled medallion. For this project, I made a semi-circle instead of using a full medallion.

What's this? Who's this clown, sitting down on the job?!? That ain't right.

All of my supplies for this project came from Alpha Stamps.  Smiley

The clown with the broom does not look like he is nice...

Despite the clowns, this is a fun piece!  I love the details and how you gave the piece depth...

How are the two clowns in front attached?

This is so wonderful! I like the stars, and all the little details. The clown on top, cupcake stick? The clown reading is my personal favorite.

Do wonder what the one clown is doing standing behind the one on the right? Looks like he is either giving him a wedgie or pinching his tucus! Cheesy

The standing clown with the star is attached with foam tape so he stands a bit away from the wall, and the reading clown is just glued on at the legs.

Do wonder what the one clown is doing standing behind the one on the right? Looks like he is either giving him a wedgie or pinching his tucus! Cheesy
He's catching the clown in the air above him.  Cheesy

Also, yes, that's a cupcake pick there on top.

Sure he is! Wink

Did you cut out even the chairs? What scissors do you use for such detailed cutting?

I use a nice pair of Martha Stewart precision scissors, but for the really tiny parts, I use an x-acto knife.

I like Kit-Kat, unless I'm with 4 or more people.

You've converted me. I kinda like clowns now. Except Ronald McDonald; he's scary as hell.
