I made this for my partner in the Woodland Creature & Enchanted Forest swap



I found the fabric in the scrap bin at a local fabric shop. What luck! I thought it was absolutely perfect for this project. I didn't use a pattern for the embroidery, but I saw a similar design on Pinterest that inspired mine.

The stitching isn't perfect, but it has been years since I've embroidered and even then I never completed a project that wasn't just chain stitch. I'm pretty happy with it and can't wait to do more embroidery!

I really love this piece. I have decided that I prefer embroidery on a patterned background. Given that the background compliments the piece and doesn't obscure it, as I've seen it do before. But this ones works so well. Great job!

That is simple and lovely. The background fabric is such a lucky find!! And I am envious of how neat your satin stitch is - great job!
