So I made my daughter a boy shorts bathing suit bottom (still working on the top)  After sewing everything together (it's reversible as well which was a huge pain in the ass) I noticed that the wait gaps at the back.  It's not a huge gap, but I  find it unsightly and worry that it will effect how it stays up while swimming. To insert the elastic I sewed it to the waistband seam allowance and then sewed it between the two fabrics so it's not like I can just tighten the elastic very easily.  (It seemed like such a genius idea at the time... )
Any ideas how I can bring the gap in without completely undoing EVERYTHING?
