Completed a lovely tailored waistcoat last night, designed for my guy for the summer ball tomorrow.
He's not actually going because he's away, but I wanted to make it for him anyway.  This is the first thing I've made for him, so I hope he likes it.  He's seen it in its early stages of construction, but won't see the completed thing until tonight.

The base pattern is version 'A' of Kwik Sew K3662, chosen by him.
I then designed the fabric, colour, contrast etc.  It's peacock blue and scarlet taffeta, and will match (ish) my dress when I complete it.

Here's the finished garment front:

The welts there have no pocket behind them, but have a little tiny space which could be used for a handkerchief or keys or something. I've fitted the fronts to him while the outer and lining were still separate.

The garment back shows where I forgot to get a buckle for it:

It looks great: I'm sure you'll be a sensational couple at the ball. I like the subtle informality of the tie at the back of the waistcoat.

Look twice, buy once. Nooooo
Look twice, decide I can make one instead.
