I like to reconstruct things into something very different of what they've been before. Here, I used a pair on mens trousers which I found (unused, tags attached) from the second hand store. The material of the trousers was good, and the color is elegant deep blue. I've made a similar dress before, but I made some alterations to the pattern, and added sleeves. The sleeves need a bit mending still, but at the time dress is wearable. Though, I'm very pleased of the result! Heres the pics:

And here is some pics of the inside of the dress:

From back

and front:

As you see, I left the original pocets in their places, and the size&washing instructions-tags too. Smiley Only the zipper and buckram are new and bought. Smiley

Thanks for watching, please tell your opinion!

Great dress an looks amazing on you! Did you use a commercial pattern or did you draft it yourself? I'm kind of searching for a similar pattern:)

I used a Burda-pattern, and did some alterations to it. Here's the pattern:http://www.burdastyle.com/pattern_store/patterns/sweetheart-dress-042013

Brilliant! My husband bought a suit for the jacket only so there's a pair of unhemmed unworn pants in his closet I might fish out and make into a matching dress.  Thanks for the inspiration!  Great work!

Absolutely brilliant that you incorporated the pockets and care tag!

I love this! So genius to keep the pockets! And bravo on all that structuring, cause it really pays off. You look so classy and cute!

What size were the original pants? Is it wool? This is really inspiring, and I'm already planning out my own version in the back of my head... Smiley

Thank you all for your nice comments! Smiley

The pants are size 54B, in european sizes. They are 45% wool and 55% polyester, and machine washable, which is a bonus. Smiley I have another pair of these, and thought about making a pencil-skirt out of them.

I encourage you to try it, it's not that hard once you get the hang of it. The top is made of the leg-parts and the skirt obviously is the top of the pants. The waist of the pants is the waist of the dress. Smiley

Congratulations, it's a wonderful dress.
It looks like a Cambie Dress.

And it's best reconstructed cloth I've ever seen Smiley
