One of my most recent dresses, I made this the other week. I designed the fabric myself & had it printed at spoonflower. The heart cut out was a pita to sew, haha, & I accidentally sewed that section of the bodice the wrong way up, so it's not centred on the pattern (but is on the other side, grr!).

This skirt is from a few years ago, just a simple rectangle skirt.

Another handmade skirt.

Another dress with custom printed fabric.

This dress is fully lined, and I made sleeves!

A line skirt made of wool, with (lined) heart shaped pockets!

This is the matching top to the skirt above, but I haven't worn them together for a photo yet.

Another crop top, different style this time though.

All of these pieces were made without patterns, but I did use some existing clothes as references for some. Hope you like them! They were all made over the last few years, I haven't posted in a while, so I thought I'd show you what I've been up to in my time away.

Oh those are wesome! They remind me of Sweet Lolita style. Love the hair too!!

How did you like the fabric from Spoonflower? I have been considering designing and printing fabric through that service.

I love gingham crop top. It is stunning.  I also really like the heart cut-out in the dress.  I'm sorry it didn't turn out exactly how you planned but really the slight asymmetry is not all that obvious if you don't know to look for it.

The skirt with the heart pockets is lovely. I wish I was better at sewing and could make something like that.

You designed the fabric, too?  You define DIY!  Thank you so much for sharing and congrats on being a featured project!

Do more of what makes you happy.

Oh wow, thank you everyone! I completely forgot I had posted here, I've only just remembered to check.

@WeeFreeRhie Spoonflower printing is okay. It's pretty decent for the price, but it does fade badly if you wash it a lot. I made a nightdress out of the same fabric as the top dress, which I've worn & washed a lot, and you can barely even see the print anymore, sadly. The colours also can sometimes come out a bit wrong (and not necessarily due to colour differences on screens either - I had replacement fabric sent to me after one lot got lost in the post, and the colours were fine, but months later the original package they sent turned up, which had wonky colours. These were both made with the same colour indexes, so there's obviously not consistent printing between batches). This was a while ago, I've just ordered another yard recently, so can see if quality has improved since.

@sweets4ever Just the blue deer fabric, and the purple castle fabric, but thank you!
