Class/Challenge/House Pride: Muggle Studies
SPEW: n/a
House:  Ravenclaw
Project Name: Desk Cleanup
Brief Description: The space where I do all of my non crafty work often becomes a catchall for clutter.  This spring I rolled up my sleeves and found a home for everything and gave the surfaces a good scrub down as well.

Before:

After:

Class/Challenge/House Pride:  Dumbledore's Army - Mastering the Patronus Charm
SPEW: Local Hospital
House:  Ravenclaw
Project Name: Acorn Baby Hat
Brief Description: The local hospital in my area is always looking for donations of hats, booties, blankets and such so I knit up this little baby hat (Ravelry pattern here) in unisex colors to donate.

OWL Subject & Option(if available):  Study of Ancient Runes - Option 1
House:  Ravenclaw
Project Name: Dovetail Shawl
Brief Description: (how it fits the requirements, pattern/techniques used, materials using, plan of action, expected timeline, etc.) - This semester I will be attempting to master reading the runes and symbols of knitting.  The Dovetail Shawl has a repeating geometric pattern in two colorways.  I have chosen to use black and white for my shawl instead of the variegated yarn shown in the picture.  I plan on this project taking about three weeks, so I have a tentative completion date of April 28.

Fly-by posting!  I'm on my tenth bout of this stomach hell I've had for the past three months so I'm keeping it short, though I expect you guys will best appreciate the conversation I just had with my husband while he was going downstairs:
Him: "Okay, well I'm gonna watch some X-Files and let the puppies have time out.  Just yell if you need something."
Me:  "Okay.  I'll be in my room, making no noise and pretending I don't exist."
...

Class/Challenge/House Pride:  DA - Patronus Charm
SPEW: A local crisis pregnancy center/home for expectant mothers
House:  Gryffindor!
Project Name: Mother's Day Postcards
Brief Description: Obviously, I hate papercrafts but I do so love painting!  I've been playing around a bit with watercolors which are so impossible for me to do but, using masking fluid, I made a set of 5 simple cards.

I have a tough time with Mother's Day after we miscarried four years ago so I usually do something like this - this year, I wanted to honor mothers who have adopted out their children.  Our local center stays in contact with the young women for a long time typically so this way I made a simple note inside saying "Mothers are not measured by the children in their arms but those they hold in their hearts.  Happy Mother's Day" and they can send them to the women they know will appreciate something like that (since I and they totally understand that some women would not want to receive this which is totally okay).

Challenge: DA-Mastering the Patronis Charm
SPEW: Suber-Marshall Memorial United Methodist Church
House: Hufflepuff
Project Name: 21 More  Prayer Shawl Squares
Project Description: Church members crochet grannie squares to be put together into a prayer shawl. The last one was given to a woman caring for her terminal son. We almost have enough squares to make a 5th shawl. It feels so good to be an instrument of God!

Class: Arithmancy/ Challenge: Bludger to Gryffindor (stash yarn)
S.P.E.W.: YES! Squares for Pine Ridge Reservation

Hi Moonflame!  Did you realize you posted two projects for Arithmancy in the same post?  You can only get House Points for one of those two posts, but you will receive SPEW points for both.  Did you mean to post one of them as another class?

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Dumbledore's Army - Fear of a Name Catch Up
Quidditch: Stashbusting!  Bludger to Slytherin?
House: Hufflepuff
Project Name: Curatorial Sock
Project Page Link: Vanilla Latte Sock Pattern on ravelry
Brief Description: I've been knitting for years now, but for some reason had never tackled socks, despite my love of sock yarn.  I decided to get over my fear of the beasts and just knit.  It took me over a month to complete the first one because I mainly work on it during weekly choir practice.  The second sock has been started and is well on its way, but in the interest of being able to work on other parts of Dumbledore's Army before next winter I'm going to go ahead and turn this project in now.
