Hi everyone,

I'd like to design round custom stickers in Publisher 2010 on Avery round labels, but I can't figure out how to open a blank Avery document in Publisher's provided templates. The product Avery numbers provided in the Publisher list don't match the numbers on the Avery packages. Does that make sense?

I'd love it if someone could tell me step-by-step how they open the labels and start their projects.
Also---I've tried it in reverse. I've downloaded the Avery designpro 5 package in hopes of opening their templates in Word or Publisher. I have downloaded those templated and pulled them up on MS Word. The template I was using had arched print in it that I was supposed to be able to customize, but I couldn't figure out how to edit the text and change it to to what I wanted it to say. When I clicked on it it would let me add text horizontally but I couldn't click on the pre-designed arched text and change it.

I also have Photoshop7 if that program makes it easier?

Thanks so much! Heidi

You can try some templates at worldlabel.com, I used to print a lot of labels, and their templates were pretty good. http://www.worldlabel.com/Pages/template_1.htm

I've used the Avery label printing with no problems.  Maybe there is a cross reference on their site in the event that they revamped their label numbers ?

Hi Heidi!

Avery labels can be a pain, I know! I have to deal with them a lot in my job.

I've always found it easiest to head over to the Avery website and download a template from there.

I can walk you through the steps:

Here's an example of a page with 2" labels templates for Word, Photoshop, InDesign, etc. (http://tinyurl.com/mzgwml7)
You can search your specific label type by the number found on the package.
Just click on the file type you need and it will prompt you to register. I always just enter a fake name/email to get by this part. After that, your file should download.

** if the design on your labels is purely graphic - as in, you've already made a graphic (jpg perhaps) and you want to put on the labels, I would download the Photoshop or InDesign templates if you have those programs, as I find Word can be challenging with graphics.

Then, just open up the template in your desired program and it should appear on your screen, all ready to plop in your artwork.

I hope this helps!
