I've been really interested in making lingerie lately. I've also been wanting to make some velvet garments. Well, I have lots of velvet dresses and shirts from my high school goth days so... I cut a couple shirts up. The first was an awesome deep red velvet. There was enough to make a bra and a pair of panties. I decided on an undwire-free bralette style.

Red Velvet Bralette Top:

Red Velvet Panties:

I really loved how those turned out so I decided to make more. This time, I wanted to make the panties a little more bikini brief-cut than hiphuggers. I had more fabric to work with from the black shirt.

Black Velvet Bralette Top:

Black Velvet Panties:

I gathered the sides of one pair:

Ok, I recently made another bra out of the extra fabric along with some black stretch fabric from a dress. And elastic, of course:

They look great!
I especially like the red set.

I'm thinking about making my own lingerie too.
Chronic health made me become overweight, yet I have small breasts, so it is hard to find well fitting lingerie. Plus I have fibromyalgia, which makes me need comfortable garments.
The problem is that I cannot find the supplies over here in Belgium (elastic bands etc.)
Do you perhaps know a good online source for them? Thanks! (Sorry for sort of hijacking your thread...)

Glad you didn't model the panties  Grin Your creations look wonderful. I'm not fond of undergarments, myself. But have made many for others. You did a great job with these. And I am sure the velvet is a comforting feel.
Remember the cross your heart bra...where they could not show the model on TV? Just on the dolly dress form?  Cheesy
Just being silly here. I think you did wonderful. I hope you feel sexy wearing them.

NEW REQUEST: Need quilting fabric with ONLY purple, grey, green. Solids or Prints in any combination/shades, but NO OTHER COLORS ALLOWED. HELP! They are hard to find.

Those looks super comfy! They look like they fit well. Good job!

BeaG, sorry to hear about your health problems! You should try making your own bra! I actually get some of my elastic and straps from Etsy shops. There are probably tons of shops that'll have the supplies. Sometimes I find stuff on Ebay. Hopefully they will ship to Belgium!

They are pretty comfy! There's only a few scraps left of the red fabric. I was thinking of making matching wrist cuffs or something. There is a bit more of the black but not big enough pieces to make undies or the same style bra. I may try to make more of a triangle bra with those pieces. Then I'll have two black sets!
