I don't think it qualifies for this months comp, but I made this lamp on Sunday afternoon using some things I had around the house:
  • 2 A4 hard back envelopes
  • A piece of corrugated cardboard
  • A string of 40 LED lights
  • Tools: a pencil, scalpel, metal ruler, an awl and a glue gun.
If anyone wants a guided tour of what I did, just ask!

I was inspired by my husband who showed me this item - http://www.made.com/broadway-star-floor-lamp-black. My lamp is only about 40cm tall but it only cost about 4 (the price of the lights in the post Christmas sales). Much better value. Even better - When I see MY lamp I get a lovely warm glow of satisfaction having made it myself!

Thanks for looking! Smiley

I think your is much nicer. Looks like you used more lights, so it's nice and glow-y.

Beautiful lamp. It seems to really illuminate its surroundings too!

Thanks folks!

It was fun to make. I might even paint it at a later date if I get bored with the current cardboard finish.
