Welcome to the relic of King Paynes Castle (I said it was the queens but his lordshop has decided he needs king status for helping me hrumph)

This is my first attempt at a gingerbread house other than the little kits that we have at our kids school fair. Theres so many things I would have changed - firstly, I soooo need to learn to use a piping bag, and as my father says - my plastering skills are thick and strong - which though keeps the walls up, does little for asthetics Smiley

Anyhow - heres the guided tour, sit back and enjoy.

So the basic frame is a gingerbread recipe and good icing. We also have (by request of the littlest) King Arthurs round table,.... a fire place.....a round tower (more about that later)......bunting......and a drawbridge (By request of the eldest)

Front door and drawbridge. suspended with strawberry laces no less

You know you want to come in

Central tower - the bedroom tower

This is the curved tower. Baked over 3 tins - (you can see how big this thing is now). Home to the lighting, and really my little artistic flirtation Smiley

Peeping through the ruins to the tower

So, lets go inside. Table at the front, Fire place behind and bunting swinging aloft. (bunting is hand painted eating paper, as is the picture in the back ground. All painted with food dye so edible)

And - night time illuminations.

Much love to you all Smiley

LATEST project - I'm compiling a "handed down" recipes boom and so if I get you in a swap, would you be so kind to find a recipe from your childhood. type it up - if you want to decorate, then please do :
