Hi gals! Keep up the good work and beat the crap out of that critic-monster!

I'm currently working on making an old biology book from 1959 (sooo many funny, but also quite sad things in there. Science is making a lot of progress, yey!) into an art journal. And I wanted to incorporate at least some of the 50 art journal prompts from blacksburgelle. I just have a few questions:

How would you describe the difference beween "core beliefs" (#10) and "life mantras" (#16). I don't really see the difference, can anyone give me some examples?

to me core beliefs are the things I know and have always known , the things that are necessary for me to feel aligned- my religious beliefs, my sense of self, etc The deal breakers, if you will.

I have never heard the term "life" mantras- but mantras are a tool use to illicit change in oneself or to promote a more positive view- ie; I eat and healthy and move my body and I feel good about myself while doing it

I don't know if that makes any sense to you - but I hope it helps

I am now in the butterflies in my tummy stage of planning for my Art Journaling class. You know, "What the #@$% do I know about this! and What was I thinking?" And I have 12 students and probably more showing up the evening of the class because that is just the way these people are. I know most of them, the class is offered through our UU church.

So what do I do? Start a blog for the class! I had most of the information already, so I just moved it to the blog. I've never been able to keep up with a blog. This is the first time using Blogger and I'm still getting the hang of it. Hopefully some of the students will embrace the idea as well.

I am priming some cereal boxes and a hard page children's book for more samples. Just about ready to post pictures of the other samples. Great way to play.

Check it out. http://artjournalingwithcarol.blogspot.com/

Your new blog looks great!   Cheesy   I added it to the front page.   Smiley     I'm sure your class will be great and your students will enjoy it very much.   Smiley    And I think its a bonus that your students are from your church because you already know them so it should hopefully be more comfortable.   Smiley

I am going to spend some time this weekend finishing up some pages to share.   Smiley    My craft/art table has been overtaken with my recent swaps but I'm caught up on them and so have time to do art now.   Cheesy   yay!
