I made some coin purses and gave them away as RAKs, I posted them in the de-stash thread. At the same time I made this one for my SiL using up the off-cuts from some quilt blocks. She loved it Smiley

Crafting 'cause I can't help myself

I kind of got lost this year, I pretty much gave up all of my art space to roommates (including the garage) and had health issues.
I did quite a few crafts but really didn't keep track well.
Here are a few I did (man I can't believe how many things I didn't take photos of)
I used a dermel and exactoknives and made wands out of different woods
I taught my roommates to make dream catchers
I taught them to do wire wrapping
I made 3 sets of sculpy runes
About 10 pairs of earrings and 4-5 necklaces
I made 2 small 5x5 collages for gifts
And tons of Upcycled painted thrift store Christmas baubles
I have done a lot of journaling but not as much art journaling as working on lettering for quotes
I made a bunch of decorated mini bottles
And 20+ art trading playing cards to give away at random at a Gothic wonderland tea party event, along with about 100 coffee filter flowers from about 1000 filters I dyed using food coloring and unsweetened koolade
And 2 necklace holders made of twisted thick wisteria branches

Here are the few pictures I have of stuff

Overall this year was craft sparse for me

Sheepblue - that quilt is stunning. I must add "Try tickertape quilting" to my list next year  Cheesy

Kookaloo_Starr  - Nice use of the de-stashed fabric Smiley

trinalocakary  - Even if you dont think you crafted much this year, isnt it nice to look back over it all an realised you actually did  Wink

I just wanted to share a couple finishes, which might be my last for the year.

These are a pair of Gloves from a kit my mother bought for me from a specialist Scottish yarn-ist who hand paints/dyes all her own yarn (Old Maiden Aunt yarns). I have adapted the pattern slightly 'cause I prefer short finger gloves. The pattern on the gloves is based on the 'Tenemant or "Wally close" tiles that my home city, Glasgow, is known for (see here from more info)

the original pattern was like this:

Just by chance it also so happens that the tiles on the stariwell up to my LYS is very similar to this pattern:

*COMPETITION ENTRY - Tasty food/Gift* I have also made my DH a Star Wars themed birthday cake (his birthtday is Xmas eve). I even melted & set the chocolate decorations myself using a silicone 'ice cube tray'. I also used some star wars cookie cutters to make "empire biscuits" from him but they didn't turn out so well so I will spare you the sad pics (although they did taste wonderful  Grin)

Star Wars cake, how fun!
Kookaloo, you did do a lot, in spite of everything. Go you!
SheepBlue, I've never heard of ticker tape quilts. It looks so cool!

Thank you so much for all the kind words, everyone!  Made my day!

And wow, you've all been so busy!

SheepBlue, that quilt is stunning.  I loved the skully one you made a while back as well.  I may have to look into this "ticker tape" thing.

Kookie, love Dobby!  And abandoned coin purses, what a great idea!

The table runner, is lovely, Renstar!  Looks like a lot of work!

Trina, your ornaments look great!  the key is definitely my fave.

A Star Wars Cake! Nice! and the gloves are gorgeous, too, bushbaby!

Such an impressive bunch!

OOOOO that scarf is pretty. So lacy and soft. And the spiders make me happy. I like spiders (not real ones). There's an old Christmas tale of a Christmas spider. http://www.kraftmstr.com/christmas/books/spider.html . Ah-h-h that's where tinsel came from!

There have been some awesome projects that I've tried to catch up on.  I've probably made my 50 projects this year...  just done a really cruddy job of keeping up with them once school started in August.

I'm going to try to get some more projects posted before the 2015 list starts!  Cheesy
