pollyprissypants  - that shawl looks so cosy! Also you take care with that back. hope you feel better soon.

I did manage another bit of baking yesterday. Since I tried a new technique (using the terracotta mould) and altered the recipie (it was a pre-mix that I part-made in the bread machine and finished by hand to which I added chorizo) I am goin to count this one.

Here is the in progress pic after I made the dough in the machine:

and whats the best way to rise the bread the 2nd time? why on my craft table under the halogen lamp while I knit!

I've not yet managed to bake bread that is actually edible (crunchy on the outside, squishy on the inside, is how it seems to go Tongue) so if I ever do I'd definitely count that too. There is lots of tasty looking food showing up here.

Pollyprissypants I'm amazed at how quickly you managed to knit your cuffed cape -it does look really cosy.

Sheepblue - I'm looking forward to seeing your projects.

I posted sometime yesterday about working on some entrelac for the first time.  Way to start the new year!  Here's a photo of yesterday's progress!  Cheesy

Knitters - is it just me or does entrelac take up more yarn than regular knitting?

The entrelac looks so cool!  I'm always jealous of those who do complex yarny things, but I just don't have the patience for it.

I got off work early yesterday for the holiday and was able to spend probably 3 hours working on the WIP that has taken over my sewing table and must get cleared before real progress can be made.  It's a steampunk costume coat, but I found the coolest thing to help me get through it.  There's a YouTube channel called Professor Pincushion that does video sewing tutorials and she had one for that exact pattern!  (Just the tutorial is 2 hours long, if that gives you any idea how complex the coat is).  Just thought I'd mention it for anyone who has a hard time learning from reading pattern instructions.  She walks you through every step completely, so it'd be great for beginners.

I love how your project is working out - just check out those subtle blocks of shade!  Wink  In answer to your questions, yes I does seem to take up more than just flat knitting does. It takes more yarn to get longer knitting than other knitting styles.

I need that cape pattern!!

Ffrogg--you have encouraged me to try entrelac...I purchased Noro yarn for a specific scarf project but have been intimidated to try it!  It looks gorgeous so far!

ok--you guys are killing me with food projects...I like the idea of counting it as a project if I am not familiar with the recipe or if it is baking something I have not tried...cooking is an art to me as I do not know much about it...hubby cooks and bakes most of our meals...

bushbaby...I spy your lovely yarn bowl!!  I use mine all the time...and for those who are envious, they were handmade by cinnamonteal!!!

I will update the lists page for all new joiners later this weekend...wow...love seeing the lists...

I have two things nearly done and will start casting on for my knitting projects..
