Whipped these up on a business trip during those very tired nights where I didn't have enough concentration to read my book but had just enough energy to want to keep my hands moving.

Both of these things were made with a g-hook, and what I think is a cotton/wool blend yarn based on how it feels. The hat was worked from the top down in half-double crochet and finished with (I think) 8 rows of single crochet. It can be worn as seen here like a ski hat, but I can also wear it pushed behind my ears so it just holds back my hair.

The cuff was made just so I could try out the crocodile stitch I'd seen around so much. The base row is actually crocheted around a hair tie I had, and then I built the stitches off of that. I ended with a few rounds of single crochet when I realized there was no way the hair tie could actually be used as a hair tie again with the stitching on it, so I decided to try and give it more of a flower look.

That crocodile stitch looks so great as a cuff!  Love it!

I have boxes of vintage piano music.  Some as old as 1890's!  PM me if you'd like some!

Thanks! It took a few tries, but once I got it, I really enjoyed it. It's a fun little stitch.
