Class/Challenge/House Pride: Defence Against the Dark Arts
House: Ravenclaw
Project Name: Crochet Pygmy Puff
Project Page Link (if available): none
Brief Description: Crocheting with fun fur was a personal crafting challenge of mine. I tried a few years ago, but I found it too difficult to work with and just shoved all of my fuzzy yarn in the bottom of my yarn basket. Tongue This time around, I found some tips for working with it, and I was able to figure out what I was doing wrong before. My pygmy puff is based on this pattern, but I just made a basic crochet sphere and didn't make the feet.

Quick, run-by posting....

Class: Charms
House: Gryffindor
Project Name: Hunger Games Stitch Markers

Brief Description: Crafting something that helps you keep track of something, eh?  Well how about some stitch markers to keep track of your crocheting!  This set was made as a private swap between AugustBell and I, as a present for her friend's birthday.  They include a Mocking Jay, Bow & Arrow for Katniss, Squirrel for Gale (for hunting in the forest), Cake for Peeta (because he liked to decorate them), Music Note for Rue, Tree for the Arena, Tracker Jacker for the Capital folks, and a Wolf for the other Tributes.  The beads are black, coppery-gold and red for "the Girl on Fire".

Wonderful projects around here again!!

@jennieingram: LOVE those stitch markers. Not into Hunger Games, but love the colour scheme and the charms!!
@pinkdelia: Ooooooh... the socks look sooo comfy and warm!!
@jellybean: Cute pygmy puff!! Smiley
@Midskiffjoy: You're on a roll!! Any tips on those hats?!?!? I can't even get past the magic circle! Also sending biiiig hugs to you!
@Dragonchilde: Those Pies make my mouth water... could do with them right now!
@BadWolf314: Oh, what a gorgeous exploding box!! I've done one of those before, have to look into that again for Christmas Presents
@Senator Organa: What a great idea for an ATC!

As for my "progress" - Since our break with the in-laws last week things have been getting "worse" when it comes to crafting time. Hubby has a table at the Comic Mart next weekend and needs me to help him with the pricing/labelling, so evenings are not good for doing any O.W.L studies. Sad During daytime crafting is near impossible as the Hobbits are constantly having their hands on my craft stash. And the next 2 weeks I won't even have my "craft" days (more like housework catch up days - the girls are usually with the grandparents for a day and night on Tuesdays) as the grandparents are going to a funeral and visiting friends during the same trip. I'm hoping I'll be able to make a start with my O.W.L (quilts for the girls) when my mum arrives for a visit on October 1st.

In the meantime I will try to do some crocheting (I've got a fab pattern for hats for the girls, but can't even get the magic circle working!!) and some knitting done in between helping hubby.

Oh ... and now we have plans to make Jawa costumes for the girls for the Twin Club Halloween party - any suggestions?!?!?!

I'm now off to get another cuppa ... temperatures have dropped quite a bit in Scotland since last week!! Shocked
