How about wigs with black straight hair? You could make them with black yarn, and then put a gold crown type thing on them. Give them hooked staffs...

We've chucked Huffie & Gryffie out at 1:30pm (they're away on a wee holiday with the grandparents until Friday) and now things are going into overdrive with getting the girls' new bedrooms sorted properly yet (they've been sleeping in them for a week but there are still boxes in their rooms that need to go into other rooms etc) and we need to get all the boxes back from storage! 🤪🙄

So I'm not sure how much crafting I will get done during half-term break.

Anyway: I'm claiming the girls' ottoman (used to store their bed covers in there) - what would you store in there? Would wool be ok?

Or anything else?

How DO you organise your craft stash??

Might have a trip to IKEA soon... If you use storage from IKEA, what do you think is best for a crafter (multiple mediums)?

I have found that storage is as unique as the crafter. When you see it, you will know exactly what to use it for. I personally use a lot of those photo boxes from Michael's. I like that they can't hold too much to the point everything gets lost in it, and that I can pick up the box and move around the house with it. I store these on industrial metal racks in my craft room. All my fabrics are in clear plastic tubs. Unfortunately, those are huge and great fabrics get lost at the bottom. It is fun to rediscover them when I go through the tub though.  Tongue

I have some IKEA units (Kallax, I think), but I also have a whole room to put them in. I've had the bad habit of just chucking things into the bins that fit in them- I have boxes with lids, plus some open ones- so this summer I worked on organizing them. I still have several left to sort out, but at least I know where things are in the ones I tackled.

I'm trying to come up with a better fabric storage system. Right now, I have some in plastic totes, and some in a very disorganized cabinet. The cabinet takes up more room that I'd like, so I may switch it out for another Kallax unit, and use smaller plastic totes. I did buy, some time ago, comic book cardboard to wrap the fabric around to make mini bolts, but I haven't done it yet...

That's what I was thinking of using if I get rid of the cabinet I currently have...

I've got a dedicated craft room/office, and won't have glass doors. Right now I have several IVAR shelving units, and I'm considering a KALLAX. Will have to figure out a table solution or two ... one for sewing and one for crafting... maybe a pully-outy table for #2? Dunno!

Then have to think about what are the best solutions for in-shelving-storage for yarn, fabric, cross stitch and paper craft stash (stamps, die cutting dies etc)... mmmmh... My 12x12 paper is currently in Really Useful Boxes and in rainbow drawers. But what about all the small itty bitties? I have 2 tool storage systems (for DIY usually), in one I will put my cross stitch threads, another one is probably for small embellishments ...

Aaaarrghhh!! Brain freeze!

But nothing can be done until after October 31 anyway...

I have 2 5X5 Kallax units on two walls, and my table in the center of the room is 2 2X4 Kallax units. I need to add a top to it, and raise it up so its a proper work table. I have some glass jars (many are from salsa, but a friend saved me a bunch from fancy cocoa mixes) and some metal tins with a window on the front (they were a holiday clearance snack mix...I bought them specifically for the tins) that will eventually hold the bits n bobs. I have an old wood liquor rack from the restaurant I used to work in (rescued  from the dumpster during a renovation) that the jars will eventually sit on. Im hoping to put it on top of one of the Kallax units.

I caught up with tracking, so your points and checklist should be up-to-date. I'll make an official tracking update after Halloween so that I can post the battle winners at the same time. Don't forget that August and September battles are still open until the end of this month!
