Lisa - there really is no need to be apologetic.  I am again so sorry for your loss.

I bought the fabric to bind & back my two quilts and when things calm down, I will post layouts.  And the finished projects of course.  I am determined to get some of these projects done (including round 1's, which I just need to long arm & bind).  I need to call the longarm rental lady at lunch today - it's been on my to do list & we've just been too busy.  My brother in law's funeral is this weekend.

Those tops look great sloth (yes just catching up)!  I wasn't too sure how they were all going to go together, but those are fun!

Craft fair today, I tried getting some fabrics more aligned with my experience of this swap, but I ended up with mainly me-fabrics anyway Cheesy Hopefully it'll be usable for round five though, whenever that happens! (look, some of these are neither jewel toned nor black!)

(I sort of derailed in this one quilt stand and bought all of these, then behaved and bought no more fabrics because I don't have any money left Cheesy )

Here is the basic layout for my son's Japanese themed quilt:

I'm not sure if this will be my final arrangement, but it gives you an idea.  The blue fabric in the background is what I will use to sash the squares, but I'll be trying sashiko stitching to quilt this puppy.  I like how there are all kinds of different styles & aesthetics for the squares - whimsical, traditional, pieced, and stenciled.  Smiley

And then here is a layout for my friend's daughter's quilt:

I was originally going to sash with a red plaid, but I couldn't find one I liked so I got red & black houndstooth instead.  Here is a close up:

I haven't decided how to arrange the dogs, but after the apprehension everyone had with the scottie blocks, everyone did end up sending me dogs with bows instead of the easier backup square I sent along.   Grin  I'll probably give it to her for her 3rd birthday in May - I don't think I'm going to make Christmas.
