So my Big sister has a medical condition that means she can do 'fiddly things' with her hands - like do up the strap on her favorite watch. So she asked if I could convert the strap to a stretchy one. She also had picked up this glasses cord/neck thing which she like the beads on:

I removed the existing straps and, using strechy beading cord (something I have never used really before) I re-beaded a strap using the beads from the glasses cord.

Here's the front:

And here's the other side:

I quite like how funky this has turned out and it is just 'so' my sister.

Nice that you made the watch functional for her as well as pretty!  I like the idea of using elastic for bands instead of trying to fuss with clasps and such...the colors are so lovely together as well!

Thanks Smiley  Im happy to report she loves it and it fits her perfectly. She even like the fact it doesn't lie totally flat!

I really love how this turned out, more like a bracelet than a traditional watch strap. It would look really dressy with some sparkly crystals. ( I love sparkle, lol.)
