While I have started another cross-stitch project before this one, this is the first one I ever managed to finish.

The reason I decided upon this particular cross is because in the church in which I grew up, the Presbyterian Womens group had given a member of our church a gift of a cross-stitched cross almost identical to this to one of our members. When that church closed it's doors earlier this year, I wanted something to remember that church by, and all the memories it had given me growing up. Since I had just started to cross-stitch, I decided to make my own pattern based upon the work that had hung in the narthex of the church all those years. This is the result.

Needless to say, I learned a *lot* while making this piece.

Thank you mom and Kittykill. It is a nice memento, and one I hope to be able to pass down some day.

I have to say though, I'm glad my next few pieces are more for fun than this one was.
