I'm Alexandria.  I'm 31, married with a 10 year old girl & 9 month baby boy.  So I'm a pretty busy stay - at - home momma who is dealing with teething and pre-teen issues all at once!

I love to craft.  I have tried just about every type of crafting I can get my fingers on!  I'd have to say my favorite is crocheting.  I also love to make jewelry.

I also cook alot (I'm a vegetarian ).. and home decorating are another one of my interests.

It would be really fun to have a penpal or two to stay in contact with  Smiley

Hi!  I am 36, married with 4 sons from 3 to 14.  I stay at home with them and my husband is a soldier, deployed right now.  I'm also a vet of 14 years, happily doing the mommy thing now!

I sew, quilt, cross-stitch, bead, and crochet.  But I tend to dabble in lots of other things, too!  I would love to have a pen pal or two to write with!

PM me if interested!

I love my hubby, but the Army doesn't pay enough for my crafty habit!

....not sure what to say other than I can sum my self up in one word...nut. Okay a little more useful material: My name is Beverly, live in TN, my age is useless as I do not have a known expiration date, I am a cop, and I live in sin with my boyfriend and two boys. He's a cop too Smiley I own a bazillion pets-dogs,cats,birds,ferrets. I am currently converting from Judaism to Catholicism. I love to sew, knit, crochet, paint, draw, and any other new form of crafting I come across. I also read alot-like going through the public library and having read all their books-and I like to write. I am obsessed with astrology, tarot and the occult. Do some rootwork, great at making homemade soaps and remedies and such. I am on a 40s style vintage kick right now, generally I'm very plain and utilitarian in style. Very much a tomboy(yes I like guns Smiley ) I love hippy styled stuff too. My next era obsession are the Vietnam days. Anything Chinese/Vietnamese, Middle Eastern, East Indian or Mexican/Spanish and I'm pretty well going to packrat it. I am very culturally rich-I'm Iranian, Mexican, Chinese, Native American, Polish and Russian. I love to cook. My favorite food is Chinese (I ate it 1mo straight in college) next is Mexican. I generally don't listen to any music made past the 80s, favs being in the 60s 70s. I like some 90s and a little modern stuff. Also like world music, some classical, and 40s big band. What else...served in the army, I'm super short, oh movies: I like war movies, most drama, thrillers, and some chick flicks. I still like the veggie tales and clay animated movies like Chicken Run. TV I don't get to watch too often but my fav is Law and Order SVU, then MASH, and I catch old CSI shows and the such. I loved the Shield on FX too. I'm kind of a very complex person in general as I'm very tomboyish in yet susie homemaker and then punk rolled in to one. I have tattoos and I have piercings.

I'm hoping to find peeps interested in the same things and more to snail mail and hopefully send packages back and forth. Anyone outside the US is more than welcome to respond too.

What the hell, let's give this another whirl...

I'm Amanda, 23, and I live in beautiful northeast Nebraska (not *much* sarcasm intended  Wink).  I'm recently engaged to my boyfriend of 6 years, and expecting my first kid any day now.

Crafty stuff:  I do a little bit of everything.  Knitting, sewing, quilting, cooking/baking, spinning.  I can crochet, but detest it with everything that is in me.  In terms of knitting, I pretty much it all, but my favorite it lace and socks.  Some times together, but not necessarily.  With sewing, it's mainly clothing, though I have made a few purses/bags.  I'm working on learning how to draft my own patterns with mixed success.

Oh, and I have a strange obesession with old sewing machines.  I have 6 sewing machines and just bought my 7th.  I feel like they need a home or something.  (My fiance says I'm like the crazy cat lady, but with sewing machines instead.)  I will die happy the day I finally own a treadle sewing machine.

I'm involved in several Stitch and Bitch type groups.  One I helped to "found," the other is in Sioux Falls, 1.5 hrs away, so I don't get to go as often as I'd like, and the other is a spinning groups that meets once a month, also in Sioux Falls.  I love the crazy variation in personalities that come to SnB.

Non-crafty stuff:  I'm an English major college drop-out.  (Which is really pretty ridiculous, considering how close I am/was to graduating.  But the thought of sitting thru one more class made me want to poke my eyes out.)  As an English major, though, I'm a little anal about grammar and punctuation.  Not that you have to be a freak like I am about it, but if you're into using "'net slang" and dislike using paragraphs, I'm probably not the best penpal for you.

I used to read a lot, but haven't nearly as much since I took up knitting and other crafts.  My favorite book is A Tree Grows in Brooklyn.  I read a little bit of everything, though, when I do get a chance.  Dean Koontz, Richard Patternson, mystery/legal type (fictional) books, and of course, a smutty romance now and then.  And every winter I re-read The Long Winter.  The Little House book.  Yeah, it's dorky, but I'm okay with that.

I do watch some TV, but we don't have cable, so I'm stuck with network shows.  My favs are House, How I Met Your Mother, CSI, NCIS, Law and Order, and who doesn't love MASH re-runs?  When I'm over at my fiance's, I love to watch the Food Network.  (It's my porn.)

Random quirks:
*I collect old cookbooks.
*I'm obsessed with all things pink.
*I'll never understand how the name McKenzie got to be so popular.
*I love crossword puzzles, though I'm not particularly good.
*I have a secret obession Jessica Simpson (please don't hold it against me...there's a reason it's my secret obsession  Embarrassed Grin )
*I'm also a fan of bad reality television.  (American Idol, anyone?)

Ah, that's enough to scare everyone off.  I better stop before I dig my hole any deeper.

If you want to be a pen-pal, PM me  Grin

PS--  Favorite movies:  Breakfast at Tiffany's, Pretty Woman, old black and white movies.
Music:  a little of everything....classical to punk, the only kind I really dislike is rap.

Making an effort to use proper English and not 'net slang makes me much more willing to respond to your post.

Yay! Penpals!

I'm Rachel, 17, senior in high school. I live in Washington, I suppose you could say in the suburbs of Seattle.

I sew (mainly reconstructing clothes), stencil, knit, and crochet and make jewelry a little. Basically, I make whatever I think of/need, out of whatever I have/can find.

I love (LOVE) to read, paint, and draw. I read a wide variety of books, but will get obsessed with a specific author and buy every book by them on the shelf of my local used bookstore (my favorite place in the world). I also like a pretty wide variety of music, and honestly couldn't really classify most of that. I sort of suck at that. I love stuff that makes me laugh, which is usually things that are either completely ridiculous, or a little bit offensive.

I was having alot of trouble thinking of how to describe myself, so I asked my friend Dan, who I'm talking to right now. This is what he said:

Ouch. Thats tough. Roughly speaking I would say you are smart. Enjoy art and music. An adept reader of things the avg teenager most likely doesnt read. Avid story teller and you seem to enjoy telling people about your experiences which are often flavorful and interesting. You are a fun cat to be around although goofy and ocasion narcotic and a tad obssive about details. Oh the way you smile is.. hilarious.

(I'm pretty sure he means neurotic, not narcotic.)

Anyways, I'd love to be ANY of you guys' penpals. Totally willing (in fact, eager) to write to someone out of the country. I think I'll read through some other people's posts and see if any of you guys jump out at me. Hope to be writing to some of you soon!

I decided to add some favorite things, more specifically.

Books/Authors: Hemingway, Fitzgerald, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Hunter S. Thompson, Catch 22, Salinger, Vonnegut, Mary Poppins, Harriet the Spy, Dr. Seuss, A Wrinkle in Time, Everything is Illuminated.

Music: Spoon, Animal Collective, The Who, The Rolling Stones, Grandaddy, Glassjaw (when I'm driving or angry mainly), silly stuff like B*Witched and the Spice Girls, MC Chris, The Beastie Boys, Bob Dylan, Deerhoof, Elvis Costello, Prince, random classical music and good jazz, and random local bands I get obsessively into for a short period of time and then get sick of.

I'm Jade, 20 and I live in UK (south east).

I'm currently atteneding uni doing a course that combines computers with art and I'm in my final year.

I enjoy knitting and beading... but I pretty much will buy and use any kind of crafty bits my monies will allow.

I work at a aquatic shop and I love reading and learning about all kinds of creatures. I love nature and wildlife - I am currently working on getting my greenhouse and allotment started up.

I keep lizards and fish. I also have 2 dogs.

I have an hair dye & dress obsession. I have huge collections of both - half of which I'll probally never use/wear.

I adore anything with bright, funky colours.

Locations no problem... The further the distance, the more stamps and I like licking stamps  Undecided

I am Cam.  A 30ish mom living in Houston with 2 little kiddos underfoot, DS and DD both are preschoolers.

I am a jack of a lot trades, master of none.  I crochet, I sew, I scrapbook, I do papercrafts, I do collage. I create simple scrapbooks and journals.

I also collect recipes and cook like a mad woman.

I enjoy books and magazines (too much), I am really starting to dig children's books.  I love to collect postcards, atcs, cards, stationary and unusual office supplies and pens. I also collect unusual toys for the kiddos.

I love pretty much anything handmade and slightly unusual.  I love to write and send happy mail and love to receive letters and happy mail.

If interested in a penpal PM me.

I think I have enough penpals to get me busy now.  Thanks.  I can wait to write to all of you.

Hi! My name is Priscilla, I'm 25 and live in the Netherlands. At the moment I work as a mail lady but I'm looking for something else.  I'm single and I still live at home.

I love animals, webdesigning (if one can call whatever I do to my blog that), reading, writing, knitting. I've recently started to work with polymer clay, felt and I've also made a couple of ATCs, inspired by this board. I'm trying to figure out how to crochet, but not much luck so far!

Oh YAY!! I haven't had a penpal since I was 10. People don't send enough "old-school-mail"!! I want a penpal too!!

About me:
I'm a 21 year old girl from Finland.

Im currently studying to be a nurse. In my spare time I do a lot of crafts (surprising, isnt it..), go to gigs with my friends (gotta love punk!!), belong to a local animal rights group, do lots of cooking (vegan, of course), listen to good music and watch bad movies.

Some intrets:
* veganism
* animal rights
* punk/hc/rock music
* jane austen -books + books like Beauty Myth by Naomi Wolf
* stupid "high school" movies, hahaha
* marilyn monroe
* pin up-ish stuff
* KNITTING, crochet... learning to sew..
*tattoos (only got 3 on me..for now)
* photos
* karaoke!!
* gigs
* pubs + beer  Grin
* black and hot pink

I wanna get in touch with someone whod I have something in common with, a big plus is that if that something is something other than crafts. Cos I think I have that in common with everyone here  Grin. Doesn't matter how old you are or where you're from (the further the better  Wink)

Send some PM to me, seriously: i don't bite and I really want a penpal or a few
