I've always been a fan of quilts but they just seem so difficult to me Undecided! So I decided to make something that could prepare me to sew a quilt.

That's how I started the long, windy, itchy and stitchy journey of quilting. This is what I like to call "My first attempt of making what could be named a quilt".

I also made post on my blog about how I made it, you can find it here.

What do you think? Am I on the right track?

I think it is a great first quilt.  I love the colours you used, very pretty.  Lovely kittie too, looks a bit like mine.

Looks great! And the joy of quilting is that once you know the basic techniques, you can make any block you want Smiley

Any plans for your next quilt?

Good work, very neat. And the assistant looks happy. I have two cats and a dog, always 'assisting'.

You could make an all purple ombre quilt like this! Just buy small amounts of 7 or so shades of purple and stitch them together along the width of the fabric and quilt as you like. Simple but really pretty.

Fortunately Waffle wasn't there when I was sewing but she was very pleased to be my model haha.
