I was inspired by these two posts:
https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=40919.0
https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=38012.0

to make some awesome Star Wars goodness for my boyfriend, so using these patterns:
http://www.texasdg.net/daynascrochet/pattern.asp?id=31
http://www.texasdg.net/daynascrochet/pattern.asp?id=55
I made these:

Darth Vader:

R2-D2:

Excuse my crappy photos... The patterns said they are supposed to be hot-sauce cozies, but I either made them too small or the pattern maker has really tiny hot-sauce bottles, so I modified R2-D2 so that he didn't have the hole in the top of his head and ended up stuffing Darth's head too... making them sorta finger-puppet-ish. I also added a little rectangle piece for Darth's mouth, although you can't see it in the pics. I put them on my fingers and did the whole humming the Star Wars theme-song while slowly gliding them thru the air towards my boyfriend and he couldn't stop laughing (while I was crocheting them they also played the disco Star Wars theme on the radio which was kinda creepy).

Let me know what you think  Grin

ETA: I made Yoda last night to add to my fiance's collection:

I made the pattern up myself and it ended up taking forever because I kept stuffing up the head proportions. More photos and a pattern can be found in my blog.

Thanks for the lovely comments!
I put Darth on the end of my finger and hummed the song when I showed it to my boyfriend's flatmate too. He cracked up as well  Cheesy

Excellent picture presentation! Your little dolls are fantastic- much cuter than the storebought ones.

And did you say DISCO Star Wars....? Where did you find that?

Yeah I know!! I listen to a golden oldies station (ie. music from the 60's and 70's) and they just played it. Never heard it before in my life, but it was AWESOME! I just did a search for it and you can listen to it here:
http://wardomatic.blogspot.com/2005/05/star-wards-revenge-of-70s.html (scroll down, click on Meco's Star Wars Theme)
and do you wanna know the WEIRDEST thing? Me and my boyfriend actually bought that record a couple of years ago but after getting it home and looking at it closely, he was disappointed it wasn't a real Star Wars record... I can't wait to tell him the good news! (And buy a record player so we can listen to it!! Wink)
