This is just about the most fantastic Dr. Who inspired work I have ever seen.  This is simply amazing work.  Quick, frame it and put it one the wall before someone spills coffee on it!

SPECTACULAR!  The design...the precision of all those circles (hand quilted, no less)...and the back (as seen on your blog post) is absolutely perfect for this and totally fulfills your intention for it.  Brilliant piece of work.

The gallifreyan - No one really knows. The most mainstream theory is that it says the Doctor's name, but when you watch the series, at no point does it say what it means. Things are only implied. It could be the doctor's name, river's name, their baby's name, their family names put together, god knows. In fact, I would LOVE to speak to the person who designed it, just so I know at last. To me though, it doesn't really matter what it says. It was obviously something very important and representative of the love between the doctor and his wife, which is why I fell in love with the idea of having it on the quilt I made for my boyfriend. I also really liked it as a design, I think it's beautiful.

I am thinking of converting it into a wall hanging or something as at the moment, very sadly, it's just folded up and put away because I stupidly made some parts quite delicate *rolls eyes*. I know not to do that for next time!!

By the way, I have LOADS of spoonflower printed TARDIS fabrics to give away. I had bought them for use on this quilt but didn't end up using them. When I prewashed it, I saw some fading and I didn't want anything to fade on the quilt!! So the TARDIS fabrics need a good new home and I can't think of anyone better to offer them to than you lovely people who have been so kind to me. Please let me know if you want them. I'll send them to whoever posts first (as I can't think of a better way to pick that doesn't come across as touting for more replies...)

I'll go for some Tardis fabric. I love the detail. Your blog showed so much more detail. I love how you did the hand embroidery. I also admire your patience, since I never make patterns like that. I'm too lazy.
