When you post an entry, is it only projects you have posted on the completed boards that are not allowed, or if it's been shared in another thread it's not allowed as well? Like, can I submit my Flower/Month when it's completed? It is a gift for someone very special, or would I need something else?

Craftalongs/Swaps are the only time you can double post. You can post in the craftalong/swap gallery and then on the appropriate board. I REALLY want people to do this because it helps when we pick the featured projects. If you don't post outside the swap/craftalong a lot of people miss your project and that is a total bummer.

So, for your entry you can post here (if it fits the theme), on the flower craftalong and then on the needlework completed projects board. The main rule is that it has to be done in the appropriate month. So, it can't be something you made and posted months/years ago (unless it is part of a bigger project)

Did any of that make sense?  Tongue

Yes, great! I'm glad because I am really proud of this and have been working hard on finishing because it's just perfect for this challenge!

I have been working non-stop on this for the past several days because 1) I wanted to be sure to get it  completed for this challenge, and 2) it is a gift for our very special and amazing elementary school secretary who is retiring very soon. This woman does so much, is so humble, and is a cherished member of the school and community. She always has a listening ear. She schedules the majority of my days to sub teach. She has a legacy that will be missed.

I started the flower of the month stitchalong hoping she wouldn't retire before I could complete this, even though I hadn't yet decided what to make with it. She didn't want a wall hanging or quilt.

I decided what better to make for a secretary is a planner with no calendar to fill in?! So, I made each month a page and added a pocket to the back she can put coupons or cards or whatever.

Thank you kittykill for the wonderful stitchalong, for which had me doing embroidery again. SonjaBoo gave me the lovely floral and fruit fabrics when we met this summer.

I set a few rules for myself. Only 4 colors per month (one month does has 5), then I picked the most significant color for the bias edging. I used my grommet tool then some monoprints I just received from jemimah to tie it together.

Now, to bombard with some collages!

The front and side view:

Jan-March:

April-Sept (Here you will notice I alternate fruit and veggie pockets)

Oct-Dec

What are your favorite months? Mine are July, Sept, and Dec.

I showed you a larger view of Dec (completed early...tonight..to be able to gift in time) in case my offering for the challenge needs to be one specific stitched item and not this cool compilation.

Thanks for looking and for considering this! So, I guess I should give it it's own post now, huh?
