This is Plain Spoken from Modern Quilt Workshop (Ringle and Kerr). I don't generally quilt because I strongly prefer garment sewing.

There are about 20 solid colors - two of the oranges that I ordered were too bright and I left them out:

I don't have enough space to lay out the whole quilt in my apartment, sorry. Here is the whole thing, sort of:

It has wool batting and is entirely hand quilted (although not very well)

The quilting took four months. Not planning on doing that again!

Well, I machine stitched the top, at least. For the quilting, the outer rings of the circles took about 1.5 hours per each whole ring. Although I am pretty good at garment sewing stitches, I just can't do the hand quilting stitch, so a lot of the quilting was done with stab stitching after I gave up on my mutilation of the quilting stitch  I'm afraid that parts of the backing will eventually require repair due to the terribleness of the quilting stitch attempts....

Your quilt is beautiful!  Your hand quilting is fine.  I can't do it the "right" way either, but two or three stitches at a time gets it done.  I bet you have another quilt in you.  <S>

WOW!  Just WOW.  I had to go back and look when I read you hand quilted it.  That is amazing.  Those circles are fantastic.  You did an amazing job with the whole thing.  Your patience and persistence is incredible.  I love everything about this quilt.

Truly gorgeous.  The detailing looks like it took years instead of months - all those stitches in that lovely circular pattern.  Quilters are my heroes.
